Grain Free Meals
We feed our adult eclectus a grain free diet consisting of 70% - 80 % fruits and vegetables. Sprouts, lentils, nuts, seeds and other proteins make up 20%-30% of their diet.

Grain Free Dry Mix:
We purchase ingredients separately, mix and store in sealed containers.
Simply green peppers, green beans, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, carrots, almonds, walnuts, pecans, coconut chips, chamomille flowers, dried banana chips, drided apples, cinnamon sticks and dried hot peppers are some of the ingredients we use in the dry mix we make for our eclectus. We purchase brands that have no additives and are sulfur free.

The sprouts can be sprinkled on top of the morning warm meal or over the birdie salad for their evening meal.  You can make your own grain free mix to sprout or purchase it from Parrot Sprouts and More.

Birdie Salad:
We feed a birdie salad daily that consist of lots of fresh greens: dandelion, endive, mustard greens, kale etc. At least two greens are added to the salad along with apples, oranges, fresh cranberries, zucchini, squash, carrots and celery. Frozen peas are added to the salad at times also. Eclectus need ample amounts of vitamin A in their diet. Foods rich in vitamin A should be fed on a regular basis. We provide carrots on a daily basis in the birdie salad as well as other daily foods.

Pomegranate is a favorite with our eclectus!
